We are launching our first primate observation guides 🐒. Unlike other guides, these focus on the interesting behaviors of one species, the capuchin monkey (Sapajus libidinosus), and aim to inform park guides, staff, and visitors about the fantastic behavioral culture of the capuchin monkeys in our study populations, especially their use of tools. Some of these tools are unique to these populations. In addition, they also mention other primates living in the region, show how to observe monkeys correctly, and reinforce the #MonkeysAreNotAPets campaign of the Brazilian Society of Primatology.
The guides are directed to the Serra da Capivara National Park (PI) and Ubajara National Park (CE) areas, where our researchers have studied capuchin monkeys for many years, and which are currently the bases of the CapCult project.
The guides can be downloaded and distributed at no cost.

We are printing a small batch to distribute to park guides and staff. We hope to print larger batches in the future and distribute them to visitors as well.
